I am a New Zealand-born painter, illustrator and musician presently based in San Francisco. I grew up with skateboarding, comics, bands, and dreamers. I've always felt a need to create. I've pursued this path for over twenty years and still consider myself a student. I gravitate towards breathing line-work, stylized characters, science and sci-fi themes, mythology and instances of transformation. As an appreciator of art, I enjoy its escapism and transportive nature and I try to imbue this in my own work. My art is often a search to reconcile opposites; the simple and the complex, reason and intuition, precision and mess. Art is my tool, my mistress, my Philosphers' Stone - I continue to be humbled and enriched by its practice.
